Speech Pathologists are important members of the Primary Care allied health team and play a major role in assisting those with a disability. Their role is to help people who have impairments in speech or swallowing. Participants who have difficulty with communicating, or using their voice in an efficient and fluent manner benefit significantly through the aid of Speech Pathologist. Speech Pathologists also work with those having issues with swallowing, re-teaching them the essentials and techniques with swallowing. They commonly work with people who have brain injury, Stroke and Cerebral Palsy, Dementia and intellectual disabilities.
